MP calls on the DfE to urgently review RSE in schools

MP Miriam Cates secured a Westminster Hall debate at the end of June on Relationships and Sex Education in schools. At the start of the debate she set out why the RSE framework is not fit for purpose. Materials provided by external agencies are sexualising children and failing to provide factual and age-appropriate information about sex, relationships and the law. Miriam Cates is calling on the Department for Education to conduct an urgent review of RSE and to impose a statutory duty on schools to share all materials with parents.
