Govt. consultation on “out of school settings” registration

The Government has launched a consultation about the registration and regulation of ‘out of school settings‘, alongside additional guidance for such settings.

The consultation is open to all children, young people and adults and is designed to gather opinions about, whether or not, all ‘out of school settings’ should come under the authority of the Department of Education.

The main issue at stake is the responsibility of parents. At present parents are responsible for ensuring that their children are safe and the consultation suggests that the DfE should take on that role.

Please read our briefing on the consultation and submit a response before the new deadline of 21st September 2025.
