ParentPower pursues the Scouts for pushing gender ideology onto children.
In April 2025 ParentPower, in conjunction with Citizen Go, presented a petition — Scouting without ideology: Keep woke gender indoctrination out of Scouts — now signed by over 18,000 concerned parents, to Scouts HQ.
As Scouting UK has failed to adequately address parental concerns raised by the letter, ParentPower is continuing to challenge Scouting UK over their promotion of trans ideology to children and policy of sidelining parents. In particular, we are pressing them over the following very serious concerns:
- Scouts selling transgender and Pride-themed merchandise on their website.
- Promoting Pride/LGBTQ+-themed activities and resources for Scouts’ meetings which promote gender ideology to children.
- Actively recruiting LGBTQ+ activists to leadership roles in the Scouts via FLAGS, in order to promote the LGBTQ+ agenda to children.
- Having a policy for Scout leaders of keeping discussions with children about gender and sexuality confidential from their parents, which constitutes a safeguarding risk.
The Scouts leadership have refused to accept the concerns of parents, maintaining that the above policies are simply about promoting ‘kindness’ and ‘inclusivity’ and they are committed to high standards of safeguarding.
ParentPower completely disagrees and will not be giving up until this once-great British institution of the Scouts is again safe for our children.
